Diosmine description

Diosmine is a flavonoid found in citrus fruits. It has been used for years as a supplement and medical treatment for vascular conditions; however, it’s now gaining popularity as an anti-aging skin care ingredient. Due to its flavonoid nature, diosmine is a potent antioxidant, with abilities to help stave off premature signs of aging, including fine lines and wrinkles. Studies also demonstrate that disomine has a soothing effect on skin and can help inhibit the development of elastase and collagenase, two enzymes which break down elastin and collagen, meaning it is a valuable ingredient for use in products designed to maintain skin firmness. Note: There are two spellings for this ingredient. “Diosmine” is used for cosmetics while “Diosmin” is the technical name referred to in scientific literature.
