Kelp Extract description

Kelp extract is a general term describing extracts from brown algae. There are 30 types of genera (the plural form of genus) of kelp, and many of them are used in cosmetics. Kelp extract is valuable because it’s a rich source of B vitamins and other antioxidants that can help prevent oxidative stress. It also has soothing and hydrating properties when applied to skin, mostly from the complex sugars (polysaccharides) naturally present.
